The Carraro History and Legacy
The name "Carraro" means carriage-maker. In 16th century Veneto, the name identified those who understood the importance of technology in a world dominated by agriculture.
Four centuries later, in 1910, young Giovanni Carraro lived up to the family name when he invented a multi-functional farming vehicle—one which would later give rise to today's multi-national corporation with activities in over 100 different countries. And the company is still a family owned and operated business, one which places emphasis on high quality, innovation, and understanding the needs of customers.
The Carraro Philosophy: the Kaizen Philosophy
In 1960, Antonio Carraro followed his father's footsteps and founded "Antonio Carraro di Giovanni". Since then, the company has earned a reputation around the world for its innovative solutions— due in part to the application of the Kaizen philosophy.
Kaizen philosophy, which comes from the Far East, implies step-by-step improvement—constant experimentation and daily commitment in order to obtain continual improvement. When Antonio Carraro adopted this philosophy, it not only resulted in superior quality products, it also meant shorter time cycles on the assembly lines, stores being minimized with less space occupied by equipment, and rational work areas full of natural light—environments that were both calming and invigorating. Each day is another step in the company's evolution of quality, innovation and services.
